I stay engaged in the process. I ask questions, offer feedback, and help you make sense of what is happening underneath the surface.
Part of the work is understanding why certain reactions feel bigger than the moment and where those patterns come from, so you can respond differently in real life.
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic and Attachment-based work, Somatic and Nervous System regulation, Narrative Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. These are not used rigidly. The focus stays on what actually helps things make sense and shift in your day-to-day life.
I work with teens, individuals, couples, and families, including transracial adoptive families.
I am based in Pasadena, California, and offer both in-person sessions and online therapy throughout California.
I’m Crystal, and if you’re here, something probably isn’t working the way you want, or maybe it never really did.
